I'm in the process of completely re-doing my website, so little by little you will find more specific legal information. The best resource, of course, is to meet with me for a consultation so we can focus on your needs. A number of websites provided excellent "background information" on bankruptcy, so you don't really need me to say the same thing over again. Here are a few sites by lawyers I know that will answer most of your general questions. You'll find out, "What's a Chapter 7?" What's a Chapter 13?" What kind of a bankruptcy is a "reorganization?" And even, "What will happen to my credit?" Have fun -- and if you decide to hire one of these attorneys, tell them I sent you! - J.L. Borrie & Associates has a detailed discussion of many of the common bankruptcy issues. The site describes the common forms of bankruptcy, such as Chapter 7, Chapter 13, Chapter 11 and the like. Joe and I have worked on many cases together over the years. In fact, I've been "of counsel" on a number of cases for J.L. Borrie & Associates, especially in the area of Chapter 11 reorganization and for adversary litigation.
- Mark J. Markus, located in Burbank, CA also maintains an extensive website with detailed bankruptcy information. I've known Mark for some time via a professional bankruptcy email discussion list.
- Adam Arnold, Doan Law Firm The Doan Law Firm offers a good overview for debtors on their website. If you are looking for representation in the Escondido/San Diego area, you might consider working with Mr. Arnold. I have made a number of special appearances for Adam, and the work he sends me is consistently high quality.
